The tenth Symposium of World’s Chinese Scientists on Nutrition and Feeding of Finfish and Shellfish (SWCSNFFS) will be held October 22-26,2015 in Wuhan.

Since Professor Ding Lin of Sun Yat-Sen University and Dr. Jan-Lung Chuang of Taiwan organized the first SWCSNFFS in Guangzhou (1992), nine Symposiums have been held, in Qingdao (1995),  Shanghai  (1998),  Wuhan  (2001),  Zhuhai  (2004),  Qingdao  (2006), Beijing (2008), Chengdu (2011) and Xiamen (2013). The SWCSNFFS has become the largest gathering for global Chinese aquaculture nutritionists, from academy to industry and has become one of the largest and well-rounded communication platforms for exchanging ideas, sharing achievements and discussing advances in nutrition, feed and feeding of finfish and shellfish. The SWCSNFFS also improves close cooperation for industry, education and research and receives increasing attention and interest worldwide.

In past years, aquaculture in China has been more than 40 million tonnes (72.59% of total aquatic production). With the rapid development of aquaculture, the feed industry has grown rapidly and aquafeed production in China (mainland) has been around 19 million tonnes and covers more than half of world aquafeed production. But sustainable  aquaculture  requires  more  and  more  new  knowledge  and technology from research and industry. The 10th SWCSNFFS will focus on high “quality, safety and accuracy” aquaculture. The symposium will organize an “industry forum” and “student forum” for the communication of some hot topics between industries, researchers and the young people.

This symposium will cover the following topics:

1)Nutrient requirements and ingredient utilization

2)Nutritional physiology and animal health

3)Food safety and animal quality control

4)Feed quality control and processing

5)Feeding physiology and technology
