Contract Research for Aquaculture, Product testing in Aquatic animals

Aquatic Biolabs (ABL) was founded in 2007 by Ms Tanuttha Suyawanish in Thailand and is dedicated to becoming a major actor offering a range of services for the aquaculture industry.

The services will be aimed particularly at companies involved in nutrition and health management in aquaculture, as well as in commercialization of aquaculture end products.

The core service of ABL is to provide contract research or product testing to support the R&D and marketing efforts of its customers.

Products such as feed additives (feed attractants, pigments...), health additives (immunostimulants, probiotics…), biosecurity protocols… can be tested.

Protocols include farm trials, cage trials, or small scale wet lab trials, are custom made and designed with the customer to meet their specifications. The trials can be conducted in fish and crustaceans of economic importance.

ABL has its offices in Bangkok, and facilities (ponds, wet lab) soon to be opened in the South of Thailand. ABL can also provide consulting on location if customers want to do trials in their own facilities or can sub-contract aquaculture commercial farms.

The managers and directors in charge of the company have developed a vast experience in shrimp and aquatic animal farming dating back to the mid 90s in Thailand, mostly in Black Tiger Shrimp hatcheries and broodstock farms, and in R&D departments of aquafeed companies. For the last four years they also have built a network of farm managers in Thailand, of Thai and international well known aquaculture experts.

ABL is able to bring expertise and a network of the different aspects of the aquaculture sector. Their past experience has brought a particular know-how and expertise for the operation of trials while considering the requirements of research protocols.
