Alltech announces major expansion

Alltech, Lexington, Kentucky, U.S., has announced a bold expansion plan in the United States – a plan that will open 13 new independent Alltech offices across the country. The expansion will follow the highly successful business model the company has used throughout the rest of the world, which has seen independent subsidiary offices established in 48 major agricultural markets around the globe.
Through the 13 new Alltech companies in the United States, customers and distributors will have more direct access to Alltech's global resources. These offices will also facilitate partnerships with local universities and industry experts. More than mere satellite offices, each new Alltech will have its own technical sales, marketing and customer service team.
“We are a global company committed to having a local presence for each one of our customers,” said Alltech President Dr. Pearse Lyons. “In the United States, that means establishing an Alltech in key agricultural states so we can better serve our clients. We can give Iowa what the Iowa market needs and Nebraska what Nebraska needs in terms of products and technical support from our locally-based technical representatives.”
Scott Sturgeon, Alltech Southwest’s team leader, sees the regional expansion as an opportunity to customize services. “It’s a fantastic opportunity for Alltech to get closer to its customers. With over 30% of the U.S. Beef Industry located in this region, we plan to focus on this sector quite heavily. The dairy industry is also an integral part of our market.” While our California office is currently in Fresno, a manufacturing facility is being sought in nearby Visalia. Both of these locations are close to the dairy industry, a core market for Alltech.
Alltech is known for listening to the needs of its customers at local level and translating this into tailored natural feeding solutions to respond to those needs. Through lecture tours, the company brings global technical and industry information to individuals who may not have the time to attend a technical conference outside their region. The European Lecture Tour, for example, is currently underway, and will cover 32 different countries over the next four weeks. Speakers on this tour include Dr Glen Aines, whose talk on, ''New Solutions for Ruminant production; Natural Technologies to Improve Dry Matter Intake,'' imparts the latest in North American Dairy Nutrition technologies to the European audience. To coincide with the U.S. expansion, Alltech will also be adding to its lecture tour program with the newly launched North American Lecture Tour. This tour visited Wisconsin in November and Nebraska, New York, New England and mid-Atlantic states in January.

Alltech's global center, in Lexington, Kentucky is also under expansion, with the opening of the new corporate headquarters covering some 60,000 square feet. “With increased regulation of the animal feed industry and a corresponding increase in demand for natural feeding solutions,” said Lyons, “we need to be closer to our customers to facilitate communication and achieve the quickest response time.”
