Aeroglide Corporation of Raleigh, North Carolina has acquired The National Drying Machinery Company of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.  The company says combining the two brands gives the group "an unquestioned leadership position in virtually every segment to which they supply thermal processing equipment".

Founded in 1940, Aeroglide manufacturers thermal processing equipment, supplying industrial driers, roasters, ovens and coolers for such products as pet food, RTE breakfast cereals, snacks, nuts, industrial rubber, charcoal and synthetic polymers.  Aeroglide is a leader in sanitary design and specialists in the science of airflow and heat transfer.

National was established over 80 years ago and has developed a strong presence by providing driers and dehydration equipment for the synthetic fiber and nonwoven industries, textile, French fry, fruit and vegetable and chemical industries.

Aeroglide manufactures equipment in its factory in Raleigh, NC, USA.  In addition to its headquarters, manufacturing operations and Technology Center in Raleigh, Aeroglide has offices in the United Kingdom, France and Malaysia.  National manufactures its equipment in its Philadelphia facility, where it also operates a technical center and headquarters.

The acquisition, which comes less than two years after Aeroglide's acquisition of Food Engineering Corporation (FEC) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, further enhances Aeroglide's ability to serve customers in a wide range of markets.  “This marriage between these two world-class suppliers makes sense due to the tremendous synergies in terms of design and market coverage” says J. Fredrick Kelly Jr., Aeroglide president and CEO. “The National Drying Machinery Company’s innovative drier designs, which minimize shipping and shop assembly costs, compliment our existing fully-shop-assembled drier designs.”  "The acquisition continues the trend of exciting innovation and expansion that has intensified in the last two years for Aeroglide Corporation, and solidifies its position as the world’s largest and most diversified conveyor drier supplier"
