Temporary outage of Evonik's methionine production solved
Evonik has stated that the force majeure announced on November 12 has ended. An issue with the hydrocyanic acid supply caused a temporary shutdown of its methionine manufacturing facilities in Antwerp, Belgium.
Emmanuel Auer, head of animal nutrition business line at Evonik, said that “we are pleased that we could solve the issue and resume MetAMINO® production. We would like to thank our customers for their patience and support shown while we solved the situation.”
 
Peruvian & European fishmeal
Fishing seems to be quite good in northern Peru with the total landed up to last Thursday showing at 483,000 m/t which leaves 2.3 million m/t still to land. Prices per m/t FOB vessel Peru port ranged from US$ 1,090/1,110 m/t for 65/66% protein to US$ 1,340/1,360 for 68% protein, 500 hist, 120 TVN. European fishmeal prices are in the range of US$1,370 – $1,635.
