Nor-Feed quadruples its production capacity with a new facility
Wednesday, June 2, 2021
Nor-Feed will open a new facility in Chemillé, in the Anjou region of France, that will quadruple its manufacturing capacity. With this new facility, the company will be able to meet the growing market demand for botanicals.
“Thanks to its EU registration dossiers and the degree of standardization and documentation of our products, Nor-Feed rides the botanicals “wave”, with export sales representing ¾ of sales now, while the French market continues to grow 2 digits,” the company said.
The new plant runs on green power, with renewable and local sources of energy and manufactures feed additives that have been eco-designed, from their manufacturing down to their use. The company utilizes co-products from the agricultural industry first (rather than purposely cultivated resources), that are processed without any chemical solvents, and concentrate to travel easily. These products will ultimately replace synthetic products in animal feeds. Nor-Feed is now engaged in a BCorp certification process to cement our commitment to a more sustainable way of doing business.
The new plant is also an opportunity for the company to implement a new extraction technology, patented but not used up to now, to exploit new botanical sources and make their active compounds bio-available without having to use expensive and sometimes solvent-dependent technologies to complete the extraction.
