Veramaris appointed food marketing specialist Anthony Lin, whose big brand heritage includes Mars, Unilever and Upfield, to drive significant growth for the company in its key channels of aquaculture and pet food.

Lin will take the role of global marketing and communications director and will lead the development and execution of the Veramaris marketing strategy to further strengthen the brand and product propositions and bring to life the compelling story behind Veramaris’ innovative EPA & DHA omega-3 algae oil. Lin joins Veramaris from Upfield Professional where he was global category lead for the Cream & Cheese categories.

“I am genuinely excited to be joining Veramaris and being part of this passionate, insurgent team. There’s no question that consumers are searching the shelves for more sustainable and nutritious options. With Veramaris’ unique omega-3 algae oil, we have an amazing opportunity to help the aquaculture industry, retailers, hospitality and pet food manufacturers deliver the products people are asking for whilst reducing their impact on the planet,” said Lin.

Karim Kurmaly, CEO of Veramaris, said that “bringing on Anthony is a huge coup for Veramaris. His considerable experience in the global food marketing industry will be immensely valuable to us as we continue to deepen our collaboration with partners across our value chain. He has a proven track record in growing food categories, partnering with global retail and foodservice brands, as well as skills in digital marketing and innovation.”

Lin is the third hire for Veramaris this year, preceded by Victoria Parr in March and Johan Brouwer in July, who joined the company as global business development directors.
