Molofeed invests in new R&D hatchery facility

Tuesday, January 4, 2022

Molofeed will invest in a new R&D facility in Natal, Brazil, the biggest shrimp farming region in the country. The company aims to develop advanced hatchery nutrition solutions and new hatchery-related technologies for shrimp and finfish in the new RAS facility.

“The new state-of-the-art research facility will upscale our value origination. It will allow us to fast-track several hatchery solutions in its pipeline, carve new technologies and accelerate new collaborations. It will contribute to aquaculture as we unchain efficiencies across all sections of the hatchery operations worldwide,” the company said.

Molofeed will continue to push forward into targeted solutions as hatcheries are a vital vertical for aquaculture to grow efficiently and sustainably. “By providing customers with a more focused and responsive R&D, we're expanding the ability to better understand the species we raise and as a result, unleash more efficient use of key natural resources, so that the industry will be better prepared to deal with future challenges and continue on this amazing growth trajectory,” said Marcell Boaventura, CEO of Molofeed.

This new state-of-the-art research facility was designed to give complete control of environmental conditions, allowing multi-factorial and multi-species research, focusing on tropical species' early stages.
