Provimi appoints new leader

Ton van der Laan has been appointed Chairman and Managing Director (Président Directeur Général) of animal feed and premix company Provimi. He succeeds Wim Troost, who had resigned.

van der Laan was promoted from COO of Provimi, a position he had held since October 2005.      Formerly he worked for Unilever and Philips, where he held sales, marketing and general manager's positions.

The Board of directors expressed its thanks to Wim Troost for his active contribution to the development of the Provimi group during these years as well as for all the actions performed as the head of the group which enabled it to become a worldwide leader in animal nutrition.

The Board of directors also paid tribute to the ongoing commitment of Wim Troost during nearly 30 years within the Provimi group and intends to continue to benefit from his experience within the management bodies of the group.

Provimi employs almost 9,000 employees and generates a turnover of 1.8 billion Euros. With over 100 production sites in 30 countries, Provimi exports in over 100 countries.
Provimi manufactures products and provides technical assistance for all species: ruminants,
poultry, pigs, horses, fish and pets.

Provimi Aqua comprises Alitec in Chile, Dana Feed in Denmark, ProAqua in Spain and Brazil, Provimi Hellas in Greece and Sofrada in France. The group produces specialized aquafeeds for species such as eel, marine fish, turbot, halibut, cod and tilapia, as well as trout and salmon.
