Buhler Group Appoints Josef M. Müller as New Member of the Board

The global Buhler Group has strengthened its board of directors by appointing Josef M. Müller. 

Josef M. Müller is a graduate business administrator and a Swiss national. He joined the Nestlé Group in 1972, where he held various posts in Switzerland, Europe, the U.S., and South Africa. He then spent several years as a sales and marketing manager in the Far East. From 1992 to 1995, Müller headed Nestlé Pakistan, and from 1995 to 1998 Nestlé Korea. In mid-1998, he took charge of Nestlé China, and from mid-2000 finally became head of the Nestlé Greater China Region with a total of 13,000 employees and 21 production sites. In the summer of this year, Josef M. Müller retired from Nestlé.

With Josef M. Müller, another competent personality from the food processing industry has joined the Buhler board of directors. The other members of the board are Urs Bühler (chairman), Dr. Benno Schneider (vice-chairman), Hans J. Löliger, Dr. Erwin Schurtenberger, Dr. Hans-Ulrich Doerig, Peter Quadri, and Calvin Grieder.

Buhler is a global leader in the supply of process engineering technology, especially technologies for the production of foods and engineering materials. Buhler is active in over 140 countries and has a global payroll of about 6,600. In fiscal 2006, the Group generated sales of CHF 1613 million.
