FEFAC seminar on the re-evaluation of feed additives - Brussels, Belgium
In co-operation with EFSA and the EU Commission, FEFAC is organizing a seminar on the re-evaluation of feed additives in order to assist applicants in preparing their submissions.
Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003 on feed additives foresees that all existing feed additives should be re-evaluated and that petitioners should introduce dossiers before November 6, 2010. The guidelines for evaluation of feed additives were published on May 22, 2008 (Regulation (EC) No 429/2008). These guidelines include specific rules for additives subject to re-evaluation.
At this seminar epresentatives of the FEEDAP panel of EFSA, the EU Commission and the CRL feed additives will provide useful information to potential applicants as regards the content of the dossiers for re-evaluation of feed additives. Speakers from FEFANA, IMA-Europe and EMFEMA will share their experience and advice as regards the presentation of the dossiers and also explain their role / contribution to the process.
The workshop will end with an hour-and-a-half Q&A session. The focus will be on those feed additives, which, at this stage might be the most “at risk”, i.e. generic substances and more specifically technological additives from categories not covered by the consortia set up by FEFANA, IMA-Europe or EMFEMA.
