Alltech’s headquarters in Eastern Europe has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification. The office, based in Hungary, earned the award for its quality management system. In making the decision, the certification body, SGS Hungária Kft., audited the company’s sales department, marketing, logistics, product registration, warehouse facilities, quality control, finance and administration.
“This is a very important milestone in our history. We are proud that an independent body approves our commitment to serve our customers and our employees,” said Levente Gati, managing director of Alltech Eastern Europe.
Hungary has proven an ideal location for Alltech’s Eastern European headquarters, particularly considering the newly emerging EU markets of Eastern Europe. Further expanding its presence in Eastern Europe, Alltech purchased of a yeast plant in Serbia in April 2002.
“As Eastern Europe continues to gain strength economically, we want to be there to support their agricultural industry,” said Dr. T. Pearse Lyons, Alltech president.
