The Black Sea Grain Initiative has been extended under the same provisions for another 120 days starting on November 19, as agreed by the parties to the initiative.

“I welcome the agreement by all parties to continue the Black Sea Grain Initiative to facilitate the safe navigation of export of grain, foodstuffs and fertilizers from Ukraine,” said Antonio Guterres, UN Secretary-General.

“The United Nations is fully committed to supporting the Joint Coordination Centre so that this vital supply line continues to function smoothly. The United Nations is also fully committed to removing the remaining obstacles to exporting food and fertilizers from the Russian Federation.”

The Black Sea Initiative was brokered by Turkey and the UN in July. Russia withdrew from the agreement on October 29, but re-entered the agreement on November 2.
