Aurélie Tournan, former executive director of Amnesty International Austria, will take over the management of the Donau Soja Association and the not-for-profit Donau Soja GmbH. Dagmar Gollan, who has been executive director of the Donau Soja Association for almost two years, will take on other challenges within the organization. Susanne Fromwald will remain the general secretary of Donau Soja and is currently responsible for market development, political issues and protein partnerships.

“I would like to thank Dagmar Gollan for her fantastic work over the past two years. These have been challenging times with many changes and challenges, from the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine to the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), and she has steered the Donau Soja ship well with passion, experience and a lot of know-how. I am very much looking forward to working with our new managing director, Aurélie Tournan, who brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience in managing complex organizations,” said Matthis Krön, president of Donau Soja. Aurélie Tournan will be responsible for the further development of the Donau Soja Organisation.

Aurélie Tournan was one of the two managing directors of Amnesty International in Austria from 2020 until the end of 2024. Prior to this, she spent twelve years in various management positions in customer service, marketing and finance at the car company Renault in the DACH region.

Donau Soja is based in Vienna and has three other offices in Novi Sad in Serbia, Kyiv in Ukraine and Chișinău in the Republic of Moldova. The organization currently has 38 employees and more than 330 members in 33 countries. Donau Soja has been supported by the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) since 2017 as part of a strategic partnership, which was extended this year until 2029. The organization's goal is to ensure a sustainable, reliable and European protein supply and promote sustainable, GMO-free soy production in Europe.
