The 4th Global Feed and Food Congress (GFFC) will be held for the first time on the African continent on 8-12 April 2013 in Sun City, South Africa. Registration is now open at www.gffc2013.com.

The 4th Global Feed and Food Congress is organized by the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) with technical assistance of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and is hosted by the Animal Feed Manufacturers Association of South Africa (AFMA) at the Sun City Conference Centre.  The Congress is expected to bring together over 700 international delegates and is the leading global platform to discuss critical global feed and food issues.

“The theme for the 4th GFFC ‘Safe Feed & Food for All” links to our global challenge to feed 9 billion people by 2050 and to do so sustainably. Participants and speakers at the GFFC will address this vital question as part of discussions that will cover the whole feed manufacturing and food processing value chain, with a special focus on Feed and Food Safety, Security and Sustainability”, said Mario Sergio Cutait, IFIF Chairman. Mr. Cutait added “We are particularly excited that the Congress will be held on the African Continent for the first time, and we look forward to welcoming delegates from around the world to Sun City, South Africa. Only by working together can we meet the demands of 60 - 70% more food by 2050 and do so sustainably.”

The Global Feed and Food Congress (GFFC) was launched in 2005 by the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) to provide a global platform for industry and governments to come together to discuss critical issues of food and feed safety, technology and sustainability.  The tri-annual Congress has established itself as the leading global event of its kind and was last held in Cancun, Mexico, in 2010.  For more information about the 4th GFFC please visit www.gffc2013.com.
