Aquasoja has been the official sponsor of the first edition of the FEAP NextGen Academy Training: A Deep Dive into EU Institutions, organized by the Federation of European Aquaculture Producers (FEAP).

The event, held from March 25-26 in Brussels, was designed to train young aquaculture professionals aged 25 to 45, providing an in-depth understanding of how European Union institutions operate and the key stakeholder networks that influence policy-making in the sector.

The training included various theoretical and interactive sessions, featuring presentations on the role of FEAP and the functioning of European institutions. In addition to classroom sessions, the program included a visit to the European Parliament, where participants had a meet-and-greet with members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and advisors from the Fisheries Committee.

During this meeting, industry professionals delivered presentations, including Alexander Döring, secretary-general of the European Feed Manufacturers' Federation (FEFAC), David Bassett, secretary-general of the European Aquaculture Technology & Innovation Platform (EATIP), and Nikos Zampoukas, policy officer at the Healthy Seas and Oceans Unit of the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation of the European Commission.

"The FEAP NextGen Academy Training reinforces the importance of collaboration between companies, associations, and policymakers in shaping the future of aquaculture in Europe. As a strategic player in the sector, Aquasoja actively invests in training the next generation of professionals, anticipating trends, fostering innovation, and ensuring that the industry evolves sustainably, competitively, and in alignment with market demands and European policies," said Aquasoja.
