IFFO – The Marine Ingredients Organisation announced that its Annual Conference will be held for the first time in Tokyo, Japan, from October 20-22, 2025. Open to IFFO members and non-IFFO members interested in the marine ingredients value chain, the conference will discuss supply and demand trends for marine ingredients and developments in the wider value chain. Registration deadline is October 3, with an early bird discount available until August 22.
The program features presentations and panel discussions involving Robin Harding from the Financial Times, Manuel Barange from the UN FAO, and Darian McBain, Outsourced Chief Sustainability Officer Asia. Specialist discussions will explore the aquafeed ecosystem, challenges and opportunities relating to geopolitics, regulations, trade patterns as well as climate change. Other speakers include Oscar Tjakra from Rabobank, Christopher Free from UC Santa Barbara, Hikaru Kondo from Kanematsu, Thue Barfod from Maersk, Richard Bazinet from the University of Toronto, Olivier Decamp from INVE Benchmark, Christian Meinich from Holtermann and Aldo Bernasconi from GOED.
The conference’s Market Forum will provide a deep dive into global marine ingredient supply with updates on Europe, Japan, Chile, and Peru, while also looking at the wider feed ingredients industry.
“Our flexible program provides more choice to attendees, with a mix of insightful half-day sessions, with afternoon side events, and two evening networking events. The two optional side events will look at certification in Asia with MarinTrust, and an industry-led side event focusing on Japanese seafood and the role of marine ingredients. We are grateful to all the sponsors for their support,” Petter Martin Johannessen, IFFO’s Director General, noted.
