As several events continue to be postponed, moved online or canceled altogether as a result of COVID-19 concerns in the United States, Texas A&M University (TAMU) announced that its 30th Annual Practical Short Course on Feeds & Pet Food Extrusion will be held live online from February 1-5, 2021.
The one-week course will be presented by staff, industry representatives and consultants. The program will cover information on different extrusion systems such as dry extruders, expanders, single and twin screw extruders, designing new feed mills and selecting conveying, drying, grinding, conditioning and feed mixing equipment. Current practices for production of pet foods, preparing full-fat soy meal, recycling byproducts and secondary resources, spraying and coating fats, digests and preservatives, use of encapsulated ingredients and preparation of premixes will be reviewed. Reservations are accepted on a first-come basis. For more information, programs and application forms, contact Mian N. Riaz, mnriaz@tamu.edu.
