New date set for World Aquaculture 2009

The World Aquaculture Society has set new dates for World Aquaculture 2009 conference in Veracruz, Mexixo, which was postponed due to concerns about swine flu.

After avoiding other major aquaculture gatherings and major holidays while coordinating with hotel and convention center availability, the new date was set for WA2009 for September 25-29, 2009. The schedule will be the same as it was for the May dates - see the schedule (PDF).

WAS will contact registered participants and exhibitors soon concerning how to proceed. All abstract submissions, registrations, payments and assignments will be carried over to the new dates with appropriate time for changes/cancellations.

Given this swine flu event, most major US airlines are allowing for reduced or waived ticket rescheduling fees for travel to Mexico scheduled during the month of May. To see what your options may be, we advise you contact your air carrier for individual policies and procedures.
