The National Institute for Animal Agriculture 2015 Annual Conference, and the first U.S. Aquaculture Sustainability Workshop will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana. The theme of the Annual Conference is \"Water and the Future of Animal Agriculture,\" with focused presentations and discussions on the issues of sustainable water, and discussion in species and issue-focused committee and council meetings.
A pre-conference Indiana Agricultural Tour on March 23rd will include visits to Bell Aquaculture (a large integrated aquaculture operation), and a soy feed plant that manufactures feed for fish and other species. The Annual Conference (Tuesday/Wednesday March 24/25) will be followed the 1 ½-day Aquaculture Sustainability Workshop or “National Roundtable for Sustainable Seafood (NRSA).”
The NRSA Workshop is intended for aquaculture producers, industries, regulators, service providers and other stakeholders to understand aspirational, strategic, tactical and operational goals for the growth and expansion of a sustainable aquaculture industries – from farm to fork. Facilitated by Marty D. Matlock, PhD, PE, BCEE (Professor of Ecological Engineering and Executive Director of the Office for Sustainability Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas) participants will identify KPIs tailored to allow the growth and expansion of a sustainable aquaculture industries in the U.S. and elsewhere.
