USAID and Kasersart University will be hosting a regional workshop March 9, 2015 in Bangkok,Thailand, as part of a series of training-of-trainers, on Promotion of Improved On-Farm Shrimp Feed Management Practices. The workshop will present the main findings and results of the training-of trainers and provide shrimp feed manufacturers within the region with recent advances in feed ingredient use, feed manufacturing technology and use of feed additives.
It will also cover the development of flow-based shrimp farming systems. It will highlight the important economic and social role played by small-scale shrimp farmers within the region and the critical need for the commercial shrimp feed manufacturing industry to closely monitor and technically assist this important sector, which currently represents the weakest link within most national shrimp farming sectors within the region, and the sector most vulnerable to the use of unsustainabl farming practices and disease risks.
The workshop will take place March 9, 2015 at Sutham Areeku l Conference Room, Kasetsart University Golden Jubilee Building Administration and Information Center, Kasetsart University, Bangkok, Thailand.

The workshop is jointly hosted by USAID Maximizing Agricultural Revenue through Enterprise and Development (MARKET) Project and the Faculcy of Fisheries, Kasersart University, Bangkok Thailand.
