As several events continue to be postponed, moved online or canceled altogether as a result of COVID-19 concerns in the United States, Texas A&M University (TAMU) announced its 31st Annual Practical Short Course on Feeds & Pet Food Extrusion will be held in a hybrid format for those who like to attend face-to-face and for those who still cannot travel because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The one-week course will take place from January 31 to February 4, 2022 at Texas A&M University with staff, industry representatives and consultants. The program will cover information on different extrusion systems such as dry extruder, expander, single and twin-screw extruder, designing new feed mills and selecting conveying, drying, grinding, conditioning and feed mixing equipment. Current practices for the production of pet foods, preparing full-fat soy meal, recycling byproducts and secondary resources, spraying and coating fats, digests and preservatives, use of encapsulated ingredients and preparation of premixes will be reviewed.
