The 2018 U.S. Soy Global Trade Exchange and Midwest Specialty Grains Conference & Trade Show will take place August 28-30 in Kansas City Missouri. In addition to providing exclusive access to qualified international buyers, USSEC and the Midwest Shipper Association’s sixth annual event will provide key information for sellers and buyers alike.

The first day of the event, August 28, will feature field tours that will allow international trade teams to tour agriculture, trade, and transportation operations in the local Missouri and Kansas area. Later that evening, an opening reception will be held at the Abbott Kansas City.

On August 29, the conference will officially kick off with opening remarks from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Foreign Agricultural Service Administrator (FAS) Ken Insley. The first day of the conference will focus on commodity program sessions including a world soy and grain supply and demand outlook; information on the rail sector and high oleic soybeans; valuating soybeans from different origins; and technologies that are shaping the future of international ag trade. The day will end with a reception at the trade show.

The conference’s second day will highlight specialty soy program sessions. An early riser session will discuss global and U.S. market outlook for soy foods and human utilization. Main sessions will include discussions about soy in human health; the U.S. supply chain for identity preserved (IP) handling of specialty soybeans; the threat of IT fraud in trade; container shipping; and the pet food market. The event will wrap up with a panel discussion on international trade, moderated by USSEC CEO Jim Sutter.
