The first workshop, AquaSpeech, conversations to have, will be held on September 12, 2023, at the Enjoy Hotel in Puerto Varas, Chile, and will focus on Ingredients for the aquaculture industry of the future. The meeting will address different issues related to the availability, innovation, sustainability and development of raw materials.

The event will bring together companies that produce raw materials that are incorporated into fish feed, who will present studies, results, technical information and new products. The objective of the event is to present different alternatives and show how each of them can contribute to feeding the future of the aquaculture industry. These issues will be addressed in a conversation in which raw materials suppliers, aquafeed producers and salmon farmers have been invited to participate.

“Raw materials are the beginning of everything. Each nutrient, vitamin, amino acid, lipid, fat or mineral has a significant impact on the health, well-being, growth, performance and final quality of the fish. That's why it's so important to know the advances that suppliers are making. In the future, a large amount of feed will be required for aquaculture, and this supply must come from sustainable sources, which is why new truly disruptive ingredients are increasingly necessary,” explained journalist Paula Carvajal, one of the organizers of the workshop.

For the producers of raw materials, this will be the opportunity to share information about their companies and products and how they add value to the aquaculture industry and help their clients boost their growth and sustainability. On the other hand, for feed and salmon producers, it will allow them to hear first-hand the latest knowledge, developments and advances in the field of micro and macro ingredients and how they can contribute to the formulations of the future.
