Alltech Coppens has been awarded a Platinum Medal from EcoVadis, an internationally recognized provider of business sustainability assessments.

The medal, which puts the company in the top 1% of the more than 200,000 businesses assessed by EcoVadis, is a testament to Alltech Coppens’s dedication to sustainability across its entire value chain and its commitment to Working Together for a Planet of Plenty®. The company has implemented initiatives to reduce its environmental impact, promote fair labour practices and foster ethical business conduct.

“We believe we have a key role to play in helping fish farmers around the world produce a safe, nutritious and sustainable product, and we believe aquaculture has a key role to play in environmental sustainability,” said Ronald Faber, CEO at Alltech Coppens and global aqua lead at Alltech. “Through careful management of resources, good science and partnering with our customers, we can contribute to a sustainable aquaculture industry.”

“We are honored to have earned an EcoVadis Platinum Medal as evidence to our ongoing commitment to the journey that is sustainability and Working Together for a Planet of Plenty,” he added. “EcoVadis helps Alltech Coppens to manage our ESG risk and compliance, meet our sustainability goals and drive impact at scale by guiding the sustainability performance improvement of our company and our value chain.”

EcoVadis evaluates companies across 21 sustainability criteria within four core themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Its ratings are based on international sustainability standards, including the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 guidelines. More than 130,000 companies have been rated by EcoVadis.

The EcoVadis process validates Alltech Coppens’ sustainability performance and offers a clear roadmap for enhancing its impact, which helped the company elevate its rating from a Gold Medal in 2023 to a Platinum Medal in 2025.

“Our mission is clear: produce fish feeds responsibly to support safe food production while conserving our natural resources,” Faber said. “Our commitment is evident in our actions: reducing emissions, enhancing transparency, and developing efficient feeds suitable for the diverse production systems of our customers. We also acknowledge that our current sustainability practices are just the beginning. We continue to search for new approaches to drive positive change.”
