CP to invest $49 million in Philippines integrated shrimp business

Thai feed and agribusiness conglomerate, Charoen Pokphand plans to invest $49 million in an integrated shrimp business in Bacolod City, Negros Province, the Philippines.

According to several local news reports, CP plans to build a shrimp farm and processing facility to expand its production base and serve more export markets. The new venture may also include a feed mill.
 
Trade Undersecretary, Elmer Hernandez is quoted as saying that CP is looking at a possible joint venture with local firm Santa Clara Farm Products for its shrimp  processing operations.
