Felipe Ureta joins BioMar Top Management Group
Felipe Ureta is joining the international top management group of BioMar as VP Americas. In the autumn 2009 Felipe Ureta was promoted to head the Americas Region of BioMar and the company said this is the next logical step. He succeeded Carlos Diaz, who was appointed VP Continental Europe.
Felipe is a Commercial Engineer with a Master degree in business administration and has a long experience in the aquaculture industry, including 3 years in the 90’s as a CFO at a Chilean fish farmer. He has worked in Provimi (Alitec) since 2000, where he was a key member of the team developing the Provimi business in Chile. When BioMar took over Provimi Aqua he became CFO of the combined Chilean operation and since October 2009 head of the Chilean activities.
The company observed that after this appointment, BioMar's top management group consists of two Chileans, two Norwegians and three Danes and said that even though nationality is not a criteria in itself, it does contribute greatly to BioMar's leadership with a complementary set of competences and experiences.
