Free Feed Production Textbook – Calling for papers
Feedproduction.com is calling for technical papers to edit the first ever completely free online book on feed production technology.
"The goal is to create a totally free but well managed technical source that anyone can access anytime, anywhere around the world. This idea is not new and the internet is full of it, but in this case the information will be well selected, reviewed, relevant to feed manufacturers and permanently updated." says Mike Spandern, the editor.
The electronic textbook hosted under www.feedproduction.com will focus on commercial aspects of feed production but it will not turn into a product showcase. Some authors are industry representatives that will be named for reference but there will be no brand promotions, advertisements or banners.
Short papers, in an easy to accessible format will cover recent advances in the production of raw materials and additives; they will describe formulation and process control, as well as mill design, equipment and quality management in detail. The book is meant as an open interface between the feed industry and the public.
"Today people want to know how things are made and where they come from."
The proposed launch of the English version is within the first half of 2007. A preview is available at www.feedproduction.com and the editor can be contacted via email: mike.spandern@feedconcepts.com
