The Global Salmon Initiative (GSI) launched its first sustainability report at the World Ocean Summit on June 5th 2015, to demonstrate members’ strong commitment to continuous improvement in the sustainability of their operations.

The report includes key environmental and social data from all 14 member companies and heralds a new era of transparency for the salmon sector.

It outlines the progress of member farms towards GSI’s goal of achieving Aquaculture Stewardship council certification across the board by 2020, and details fish escapes, fish mortality, antibiotic use, sea lice levels, sea lice treatments, wildlife interactions, use of marine ingredients in feed, compliance, occupational health and safety, and interactions with the local community.
