John Bean Technologies/Food Audits International to provide Best Aquaculture Practices audits
The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) certification program has added a new company to its international team of auditing bodies.
A service agreement between BAP Certification Management and John Bean Technologies, Ltd./Food Audits International will allow the independent contractor to perform inspections and audits for aquaculture farms, hatcheries and processing plants that participate in BAP certification.
John Bean Technologies, Ltd./Food Audits International is qualified to audit the general requirements for bodies operating certification systems as published in ISO/IEC Guide 65: 1996 (E). It will use BAP-trained and accredited inspectors to carry out audits at facilities in Thailand and other countries in Southeast Asia.
After applicants complete the auditing process, their facilities are issued Best Aquaculture Practices certification by BAP Certification Management (formerly Aquaculture Certification Council). The management group coordinates the certification process for the Global Aquaculture Alliance.
The leading standards-setting organization for farmed seafood, the Global Aquaculture Alliance develops BAP standards through technical committees whose work is overseen by a Standards Oversight Committee of diverse stakeholders.
