Limited fishmeal supplies drive prices high

Buyers advised to cover needs as soon as possible
December 7, 2005

With fishing ended in Peru and supplies from Denmark and Chile very limited, fishmeal prices are projected to be very strong for the next three to four months.

“It will be an expensive time for fishmeal from now to the next season in March or April”, Wayne Bacon, Hammersmith Marketing said. “Buyers are advised to cover their needs as soon as possible”.

Bacon said supplies of poultry grade 65/67 protein fishmeal ware difficult to find and that the higher quality aquaculture grades are in very limited supply and at even higher prices.
