Cargill announced in December that it will no longer pursue an acquisition of Nutreco.  In reaching this decision, Cargill said it considered all relevant facts, including the attractiveness of acquiring Nutreco relative to alternative potential investments. The company said it remains committed to building further its global animal nutrition platform through both organic investment and acquisitions.

The withdrawal of Cargill leaves the way open for SHV Holdings N.V. to finalize its conditional agreement with Nutreco.
