Torben Nissen has been working as an apprentice at Aller Aqua Research in connection with his Fish Worker education. Lectures at schools in Hannover and Hildesheim, paired with practical work at Aller Aqua Research, has enabled Torben to graduate the Fish Worker course as the best student in Northern Germany in 2016, 1 year faster than calculated.
Starting as an apprentice it was Torben’s aim to graduate and gain working experience, as well as a deep knowledge of the trade. Torben has now been employed as a research assistant at Aller Aqua Research, supporting the existing staff in the running and continuous growth of the research center.
At the same time, Aller-Aqua is starting Paul Neumann as their new apprentice for the next 3 years. Paul will, just like Torben, combine theoretical studies with the practical experience at the research center, as well as hands-on training at carp and trout farms in Poland and Germany.
