United Fish LLC and Seapride LLC signed a partnership to set up an aquafeed project in Oman named Blue Feeds LLC. The partnership aims to support the sustainable growth of the aquaculture industry and address food security concerns globally.
With their extensive experience in fish processing, fishmeal and fish oil production, both companies are poised to make a substantial impact. The two fish processing companies have joined hands to establish a state-of-the-art aquafeed mill at the Fisheries Zone in Duqm with an investment of USD 20 million.
The first phase of the project will have a production capacity of 60,000 tons of shrimp and fish feeds. Construction will start in August and expansion plans are already underway, demonstrating the company's commitment to growth, the company told Aquafeed.com. Additionally, the management of Blue Feeds LLC envisions the inclusion of a pet food unit as part of the same project in the near future.
Making a significant contribution towards Oman's Vision 2040, this initiative is in line with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources' vision for value-added processing, utilizing the abundant raw materials available in the Sultanate.
