Peru fishing season date and catch limits announced
The Government of Peru has announced the next fishing season will begin November 6, 2009.
The total catch for the summer season is set at 2 million tonnes of fish landed, the equivalent of about 480,000 - 500,000 tonnes of fishmeal. However, Wayne Bacon, Hammersmith Marketing Ltd. advises that about 300,000 tonnes of this production has already been sold.
