Produce, Peru\'s ministry of production, has just announced that the North Central region of the Peruvian sea will open for a second anchovy fishing season.
The season will open in the second week of November, with a total allowable catch (TAC) not exceeding 1.1 million metric tons and close at the latest by the end of January 2016.
The move follows the acoustic exploration, undertaken last week, to assess anchovy biomass in the north-centre fishing area.
Resuming the season is very good news for the 10,000+ fishermen who depend on the fishery for a living.
