PetroSun BioFuels Commences Mississippi River Delta Aquaculture Lease Program

PetroSun BioFuels, Inc., has executed the initial lease in the Mississippi River Delta Aquaculture Lease Program, according to CNN Money. The 744.69 surface acres of former catfish ponds are located in Humphreys County, Mississippi, near Belzoni.

PetroSun BioFuels has authorized the leasing of up to 60,000 surface acres of former commercial fish ponds during Phase One of the Mississippi River Delta Aquaculture Lease Program in Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas and Alabama. The company will commence commercial algae-to-biofuels operations upon the issuance of permits from the Department of Environmental Quality and/or other state agencies governing these activities within the geographical boundaries of the program.
