Mads Martinsen has been appointed CEO of Skretting Norway, following Håvard Walde's transition to Skretting's new Managing Director for its salmon business in Australia, Chile, North America, and Norway.

“I practically grew up on the edge of the cage, and I’m filled with both joy and a deep sense of responsibility to help drive the development of feed for Norwegian aquaculture. We have incredible opportunities to produce even more of the high-quality, sustainable food the world needs. This is something I’m truly passionate about. Fortunately, we’re in a strong position to do this, thanks to partnership agreements that create real opportunities for innovation, sustainability, and the development of products the industry both needs and wants. I believe in close relationships and open communication—the key is to get everyone in the same boat,” said Mads Martinsen.

For the past seven years, Martinsen has served as Director of Product Development and Sustainability at Skretting Norway. He joined the company in 2011 as a recent fisheries graduate from the University of Tromsø, quickly becoming head of the research station at Lerang before taking on responsibility for grow-out feeds in Norway in 2016.

“We’ve gained a skilled leader who knows the company well and is deeply committed to aquaculture. I personally value the collaboration I have with Mads and the Norwegian team and look forward to continuing it,” said Håvard Walde, managing director of BU Salmon at Skretting.
