Geva Pharmaceuticals (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Geva Holdings (Pty) Ltd has announced the design / pre-implementation stage of the world’s largest state-of-the-art and fully automatic indoor production facility for Spirulina platensis to be erected along the coast of South Africa. 

To be known as the Govan Mbeki Biotechnology Facility, it will be built in accordance to ISO compliance in all aspects of production and administration. The facility will have a capacity of 2,000-tons p.a. (dry powder & tablets) in its first year of production leading up to 3,000-tons by year three of operation.  Value-added products such as pigments and cosmetics will be available soon.

The company says product safety is guaranteed, as all production will be of the highest quality “Human Grade”.
