U.S. Aquafeed producer, Silver Cup, has completed its new production and distribution facility located in Tooele, Utah. Following a significant investment over the past 18 months, raw material storage, batching and extrusion processes, as well as the office functions have been consolidated into the Tooele site with the original Murray site closing.
“The new upgrade and expansion has delivered a modern, fully automated plant with a complete new range of equipment. We’ve also upgraded our operating system to include an extensive tracking and tracing tool allowing for complete traceability from raw material to finished product,” said Production Manager, Dana Nelson.
“We’ve had some real challenges with our planning and logistics during the transition to Tooele. Our customers have been very understanding, and we really appreciate their patience. We’re very pleased with the new facility and are confident that this will increase our ability to provide our customers with the highest quality products and customer service,” said Russell Higdon, Silver Cup Operations Manager.
Another change as of August 1, 2011 is that Chris Nelson will be reducing his daily involvement in the Silver Cup business, as he transitions toward a well deserved retirement. Chris will work on a part-time basis and remain available as a technical resource to Silver Cup.
Chad Vanderlinden, who has worked closely with Chris Nelson for the past three years, will be taking over Chris’ day-to-day responsibilities. “We’re very excited by the changes here at Silver Cup,” says Chad. “We have a great new production facility and a sales and distribution team ready to serve our customers.”
