USA - Language placing a moratoruim on offshore aquaculture removed from the CLEAR bill

Language that would have permanently taken away authority from the Secretary of Commerce, the Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or the Regional Fishery Management Councils to regulate or permit offshore aquaculture has been removed from HR 3534, the Consolidated Land, Energy and Aquatic Resources (CLEAR) Act. Section 704 proposed to invalidate any permits issued under the authority of the Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act relative to offshore aquaculture.

CLEAR has passed the House and is on the Senate claendar.
