Wenger-SARDI AESEC Extrusion Day

Wenger and SARDI are having an open house day of the Australasian Experimental Stockfeed Extrusion Centre (AESEC) in association with the conclusion of Australasian Aquaculture 2006 in Adelaide. This open house day is designed for companies interested in having an understanding of extrusion for production of aquatic feeds and/or that wish to see the extrusion research facilities available.
Dr Leong Wee, SARDI will present the welcome and a review of the abilities of SARDI and the AESEC with regards to their capabilities to service aquaculture needs, including feed formulation, feed production and aquatic animal feeding trials.
Joe Kearns of Wenger Manufacturing, Inc. will give a presentation on extrusion, drying and coating in general, and the methods of producing floating and sinking aquatic feeds. A static tour of the AESEC facility for an equipment review will be followed by demonstration runs on both floating and aquatic feeds. Wenger’s Tony Bruning will be present to assist Geoff Wyatt, SARDI with the demonstrations. The demonstrations will show the abilities of the AESEC to meet the needs of industry.
The SARDI AESEC facilities located on the Roseworthy Campus of the University of Adelaide are ideal for research, pilot-scale testing and training for clients with extruders, or interested in extrusion. The facility is complete in that it includes extrusion, drying and coating equipment.
A bus is arranged for departure from the Conference Centre on Thursday Aug 31 at 7:30am for the AESEC at Roseworthy Campus located on Wasley Road, Roseworthy, SA 5371 for those of you who wish to drive themselves. The bus will also return to the conference centre at 4:00pm.
Morning and afternoon tea, and lunch will be provided.
