A new, comprehensive report on the Chinese feed industry, has just been made available by Report Buyer.
The report shows that in the first half year of 2014, feed companies encountered widespread losses, with small and medium-sized feed enterprises closing or being acquired, whilst the large feed enterprises continued to grow.
Total feed output for the year declined, with an estimated production of 187 million metric tonnes. This was influenced by avian influenza, which saw broiler and layer feed output drop, and by intensive rains in the second quarter, which affected aquaculture output in South China. Only live hog and ruminant feed output grew year on year.
Information, prices and market performance in 2014 are included for main feed components such as corn, soybean meal, rapeseed meal, cottonseed meal, DDGS, fishmeal, meat and bone meal, as well as lysine and DL-Methionine. Feed market performance and trends are forecast for 2015.
