Total catfish feed delivered in the United States during June 2012 was 73,325 tons, down 5 percent from June 2011, but up 15 percent from the previous month. Foodsize catfish feed delivered totaled 69,170 tons, down 6 percent from the corresponding month a year ago. Feed delivered for fingerlings and broodfish totaled 4,155 tons, up 3 percent from the corresponding month a year ago.

June feed delivered to Mississippi catfish growers for foodsize fish totaled 35,308 tons, up 6 percent from last year. Mississippi accounted for 51 percent of the total foodsize catfish feed delivered to United States farmers.

The other major States with catfish feed deliveries for foodsize fish in June and their comparison to the previous year were Alabama with 22,218, down 20 percent; Arkansas with 5,741 tons, down 4 percent; and Louisiana with 416 tons, down 23 percent
