French insect company Agronutris appointed Geir Ivar Lanes as aquaculture business director. Lanes will oversee commercial relations with clients in the aquaculture industry, in particular, with BioMar.

Agronutris and BioMar signed a long-term partnership in 2023 to develop the next generation of black soldier fly meals, specially designed to meet the needs of the aquaculture industry. After years of R&D, insect meal is now seen as a promising new ingredient on a clear pathway to being widely adopted. As a result, a wide portfolio of insect meals designed for aquaculture is entering the market with promising results.

“We are delighted to welcome Geir Ivar to our team at Agronutris, He brings valuable experience that strengthens our position in the aquaculture market. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to Chris Haacke for his commitment and dedication over the past two years. His contribution has been invaluable to the partnership with BioMar and the success of Agronutris. We wish him all the best in his new projects,” said Medhi Berrada, co-founder of Agronutris.

Geir Ivar brings 30 years of experience and knowledge to Agronutris. He spent 21 years as managing director of aquaculture consulting company Havbrukskontroll AS before joining Corbion in 2020 as senior market development manager.
