Alltech has achieved UKASTA Feed Assurance Scheme (UFAS) accreditation for the manufacture of its range of natural feed supplements and forage additives at its facilities in the UK and Ireland.

Formal approval has been granted following independent auditing at Alltech’s UK office in Stamford, Lincolnshire and at its European Bioscience Centre in Dunboyne in Ireland. Key products manufactured at the sites include Yea-Sacc®1026, Sil-All™, Sel-Plex™, Mycosorb™, and Bio-Mos™.

“Official and independent recognition of our standards of manufacturing is an important step in the company’s development, particularly in the context of customer assurance,” said Alltech European Vice President, Aidan Connolly. “The UFAS scheme has become the benchmark for UK businesses and is recognized throughout Europe. Alltech has earned its reputation for innovative products that are efficacious and highly relevant for today’s production systems, and now there is complete clarity on all aspects of quality control and traceability.”

Alltech’s natural feed supplements are used widely in feeds for both ruminant and monogastric species, with the traditional farm livestock markets being serviced alongside growth areas that include equine and pet food sectors. Globally Alltech now claims a position in the top twenty animal health companies worldwide, with annual sales expected to reach $200 million in 2003.
