The Alltech mycotoxin management program recently took home top honours from China with recognition as a ‘star’ in the feed trade.

The ‘Top 5 Mycotoxin Solution’ award was presented by the China Feed Industry Information Network, following seven rounds of online voting and a review by a 30-member expert team.

Since its inception, the Alltech Mycotoxin Management program has been recognised globally. The Alltech 37+® mycotoxin analysis gained a one-star innovation award in late 2013 from INNOV’SPACE in France, a distinction programme that awards new product and service innovations in agriculture.

The 37+ program, using an improved liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry method, analyses for multiple mycotoxin contamination in a given feed sample. The programme provides a risk assessment and calculates the risk equivalent quantity (risk factor multiplied by the quantity of mycotoxin) for the submitted feedstuff sample. The Mycotoxin Management team then provides a complete contamination report as well as recommendations for management and nutritional applications that can assist with mycotoxin prevention and control.

“Historically, both the analytical and the commercial side of mycotoxin management have focused on identifying and addressing individual mycotoxins. However, forages and grains are naturally contaminated with multiple toxins,” said Nick Adams, global director for the Alltech Mycotoxin Management team.

“Through advances in laboratory analysis and solutions-based approaches, Alltech has demonstrated its commitment to identifying, managing and addressing this broad spectrum challenge.”
