Animal health and nutrition company Alltech are silver sponsors of this year’s Aquaculture Europe 2011 conference, taking place between October 18th and 21st in Rhodes, Greece.

Alltech will host a Farmer’s Day during the conference on the 19th of October 2011, in conjunction with BioMar. Here, John Sweetman, European aquaculture technical manager for Alltech, will give a presentation titled “Parasitic Infections – Practical Protocols to Prevent Losses.” Other topics for discussion are issues affecting the Mediterranean Agriculture sector, practical management programmes and the development and innovation agenda.

These technologies must provide the structural support vital for the stability of modern nutritional platforms that are capable of providing the product quality demanded by today’s consumers.”

Last year Alltech Inc. acquired a state-of-the-art algae fermentation facility in Winchester, Kentucky, USA as part of their commitment to the aqua industry and their algal fermentation technology platform. They see this area as being one of the world’s more renewable food and energy sources, playing a major role in both human and animal health and nutrition in the future.
