Novus International Pty Ltd. and Nutrition Specialties Pty Ltd. have announced the merger of operations of both companies into the new entity Novus Nunrition PTY Limited. The new company unites the Novus leading edge position in methionine and animal nutrition research with the market strength of Nutrition Specialties in distributing a broad range of feed ingredients throughout Australia and New Zealand. Officially launched on April 1, 2003, Novus Nunrition PTY Limited. will capitalize on the strengths of both organizations offering a broad range of feed and food ingredients including amino acids, antioxidants, minerals and natural products.

Novus International Pty Ltd. was a subsidiary of Novus International, Inc., the world’s leading supplier of methionine with Alimet® Feed Supplement. Novus Nutrition will play a key role in the goal of Novus International to broaden the spectrum of its multi-product offerings while maximizing sales channels to enhance customer relationships and improve efficiency.

Nutrition Specialties Pty Ltd. was a leading supplier of nutrition and specialty products to Australia and New Zealand. Both companies are majority owned by Mitsui & Co., Ltd., an organization with more than 30 years of dedication to and experience in the regional feed ingredients business.

Assuming leadership of the new organization as managing director is Ian McDowell, previously with Nutrition Specialties. McDowell’s key goal will be to bring the new company even closer to the customer.

David Damjanovic of Novus International Pty Ltd., becomes regional manager for Novus Nutrition. “I am elated that this new organization allows us the privilege of helping our customers improve purchasing efficiency by offering expanded lines of feed and food ingredients through a single organization that is dedicated to helping them succeed,” said Damjanovic.

Employees of both organizations will work together to preserve and enhance current relationships. Novus Nutrition Pty Lyd has offices located in Sydney and Melbourne, Australia.
