For the seventh consecutive year, Peruvian marine ingredients company, Austral Group, was recognized as a Socially Responsible Company (DESR), and was awarded by Peru 2021 and CEMEFI.

This recognition highlights the commitment to its sustainable management in social, environmental and good corporate governance aspects. During this edition, Austral obtained a higher score than the previous year, demonstrating its continuous work towards sustainability and improvements in its management year after year, the company said.

“It is a great pride to obtain the ESR Distinctive for the seventh consecutive year, which reaffirms the commitment of each of our collaborators to responsible and sustainable fishing management. At times like these, it is important for the business sector to commit itself to be an agent of positive social change, and contribute to the development and growth of the country to achieve the prosperous Peru that we all want,” said Adriana Giudice, Austral Group general manager.

The Socially Responsible Company Distinction verifies, through the evaluation of more than 100 indicators, the performance of companies on issues such as sustainability strategy, climate change, integrity, development of human capital, acquisition and management of suppliers, among others. The DESR is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), becoming a more rigorous and demanding evaluation tool every year.
